Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation; treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE); prophylaxis of DVT following hip or knee replacement surgery.

Off-label uses: Anticoagulation in patients with heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT); thromboprophylaxis in cancer patients; use in pediatric patients (limited data).
