1. Clinical Overview

Alka-PH Syrup is an antacid containing Aluminium Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide, used to relieve heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach. It neutralizes stomach acid. Usually taken after meals and at bedtime. Shake well before use. Do not take with milk or other antacids without consulting a doctor.

2. Side Effects

Possible side effects associated with Alka-PH Syrup:

  • Common side effects include constipation (aluminium) or diarrhea (magnesium). Less common side effects include nausea
  • vomiting
  • and loss of appetite. Serious side effects are rare but may include hypophosphatemia
  • hypermagnesemia
  • or aluminum toxicity in kidney disease patients. Use with caution in patients with kidney problems.
