It should not be used in pregnant women or women planning pregnancy, as it can cause fetal harm. Also contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to leflunomide or any of its excipients. Patients with renal impairment should use with caution.

Leftab 10mg Tablet can cause serious liver injury, including liver failure. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is essential. It may also cause bone marrow suppression, leading to anemia, leukopenia, or thrombocytopenia. Patients with pre-existing liver disease, hepatitis B or C, or those on other hepatotoxic drugs should use with caution. This medicine can cause severe skin reactions and interstitial lung disease; seek immediate medical attention if you experience cough, shortness of breath, or skin rash. Avoid live vaccines during treatment. Effective contraception is required in women of childbearing age due to risk of fetal harm.

In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention. Overdose may cause severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, liver toxicity, and bone marrow suppression. Cholestyramine or activated charcoal may be used to accelerate elimination of leflunomide. Treatment is supportive and symptomatic.
