A fixed-dose combination supplement containing micronized Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a prohormone precursor to androgens and estrogens; Folic Acid, a synthetic form of Vitamin B9; and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). This combination is primarily targeted at addressing age-related hormonal decline, supporting energy, mood, bone health, and cardiovascular wellness in the Indian adult population, particularly in perimenopausal women and men with andropause symptoms. The micronization of DHEA enhances its bioavailability.
Adult: One tablet daily, or as directed by the physician. Preferably taken in the morning with a meal containing fats to enhance Vitamin D3 absorption.
Note: Take orally with a full glass of water. Consume with a meal containing healthy fats (e.g., nuts, avocado, dairy) for optimal Vitamin D3 absorption. Do not crush or chew unless advised.
DHEA serves as a precursor for the synthesis of androgens (testosterone) and estrogens (estradiol) in peripheral tissues, exerting pleiotropic effects. Folic Acid acts as a cofactor in one-carbon metabolism for DNA synthesis, repair, and methylation. Vitamin D3 regulates calcium-phosphate homeostasis and exerts genomic effects via the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR).
Pregnancy: CONTRANDICATED. DHEA can cause virilization of the female fetus. High-dose folic acid is only indicated for specific neural tube defect prevention at much lower doses (400-800 mcg), not 5mg routinely. Vitamin D3 is safe at recommended pregnancy doses but 3000IU is high.
Driving: Generally safe. However, if dizziness or drowsiness occurs as a rare side effect, avoid driving.
| Warfarin and other Anticoagulants | Folic acid may alter anticoagulant effect; DHEA may affect clotting factors. Monitor INR closely. | Major |
| Anticonvulsants (Phenytoin, Carbamazepine, Phenobarbital) | Reduce serum levels of both DHEA and Vitamin D3. Increased dose may be needed. | Moderate |
| Corticosteroids (e.g., Prednisone) | May antagonize Vitamin D3 action and increase calcium excretion. | Moderate |
| Thyroid Hormones (Levothyroxine) | Calcium in supplements can impair absorption. Administer at least 4 hours apart. | Moderate |
| Orlistat, Bile Acid Sequestrants | Can impair absorption of fat-soluble Vitamin D3. | Moderate |
| Methotrexate | Folic acid reduces toxicity but may interfere with efficacy in cancer chemotherapy. Use only under oncologist's guidance. | Major |
| 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (Finasteride, Dutasteride) | May interfere with the androgen-mediated effects of DHEA metabolites. | Moderate |
