Kidney transplant ke baad baby possible hai? 5 saal stable hu, lekin dar lag raha hai – kisi ne try kiya?

Hello everyone. I’m usually just reading here but today I really need to ask something that’s been eating me up inside.

I had my kidney transplant 5 years ago. Alhamdulillah everything is stable, my creatinine stays around 1.0, and I take my immunosuppressants daily without fail. But lately my husband and I have been thinking about starting a family. I’m 34, so time is not on my side.

I asked my nephrologist and he said it’s possible but high risk. He mentioned I’d need to switch some medicines before trying, and that I’d be monitored very closely. But I’m terrified. What if the pregnancy causes rejection? What if I lose the kidney that someone donated to me? My mother-in-law also keeps saying “kidney wale ko bacche nahi hone chahiye” and it breaks my heart.

Has anyone here actually had a baby after a kidney transplant? How did you manage with the medicines? Did you face any major complications? I want to be a mother so badly but I don’t want to be selfish and risk my health or the baby’s.

Please share your experiences. I feel so alone in this.
