Gap in resume ka sach bola, ab interview ka call nahi aayega! Kya karun?

Yaar, I don’t know what to do. Finally got a call for interview after 6 months of applying. Cleaned my best kurta, went there with full confidence. Interviewer was nice at first, then he asked about the gap in my resume. I told truth—said I was in rehab for addiction. His face changed instantly. He said "we'll call you" but I know that call is never coming. Itna effort waste.

Mummy says "beta, why you told him? Lie karo." But I don’t want to start new life with lies. Already I am going to NA meetings twice a week, taking my medication for depression regularly—sertraline 50mg. But yeh stigma, it’s like a second addiction. Har jagah same story.

My brother is supporting me but he also says employers will never trust an ex-addict. Credit card debt is piling up, interest badh raha hai. Sometimes I feel like using again just to forget, but I don’t. I fight.

Question for you all: How do you handle job interviews when they ask about your past? Should I lie or keep telling truth? Koi successful story ho toh share karo please. Need some hope today.
