Mechanism of Action

This combination works synergistically to relieve multiple symptoms of upper respiratory tract conditions. Phenylephrine acts as a nasal decongestant by vasoconstriction. Chlorpheniramine antagonizes histamine H1 receptors, reducing allergic symptoms like rhinorrhea and sneezing. Dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex by acting on the medullary cough center.
