Overview

A fixed-dose combination (FDC) analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-edema agent. Diclofenac is a potent NSAID providing anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) is a centrally-acting analgesic and antipyretic. Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme derived from Serratia marcescens, known for its anti-inflammatory, fibrinolytic, and anti-edema properties. This combination is widely used in India for conditions requiring rapid pain relief, reduction of inflammation, and resolution of edema, offering a synergistic effect.

Diclofenac reversibly inhibits both cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and COX-2 enzymes, reducing prostaglandin (PG) and thromboxane synthesis, mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol's exact mechanism is unclear but likely involves central COX inhibition (especially COX-2 variant) and modulation of the endocannabinoid and serotonergic systems, providing analgesic and antipyretic effects with minimal peripheral anti-inflammatory action. Serratiopeptidase breaks down insoluble fibrin, exudates, and dead tissue by proteolytic action, facilitating their absorption, reducing edema, and improving microcirculation at the inflamed site.
