🩺 Quick Overview

A fixed-dose combination oral liquid primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of dry, non-productive cough associated with allergic conditions like the common cold and allergic rhinitis. Chlorpheniramine is a first-generation alkylamine H1-antihistamine providing anti-allergic effects. Dextromethorphan is a centrally-acting non-opioid antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex in the medulla. Mechanism of Action

Chlorpheniramine competitively antagonizes histamine at the H1 receptor, reducing capillary permeability, bronchoconstriction, and itching. Dextromethorphan acts centrally on the cough center in the medulla oblongata, raising the threshold for coughing. It is a non-competitive NMDA receptor antagonist and sigma-1 receptor agonist. Menthol activates cold-sensitive TRPM8 receptors in the oropharyngeal mucosa, producing a cooling sensation, mild local anesthesia, and a perceived relief of throat irritation.
