Phenylephrine is a selective α1-adrenergic receptor agonist that acts as a nasal decongestant by vasoconstriction. This combination is indicated for the symptomatic relief of productive cough, nasal congestion, and rhinorrhea associated with upper respiratory tract infections and allergic conditions.
