A fixed-dose combination of essential water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins, primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of B-complex and antioxidant vitamin deficiencies. It is widely used in the Indian context for managing nutritional deficiencies associated with poor diet, malabsorption, chronic alcoholism, and increased metabolic demands. The combination supports energy metabolism, red blood cell formation, neurological function, and provides antioxidant protection.
Adult: One tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician. Usually taken after a meal.
Note: Administer orally with a glass of water, preferably after a meal to enhance absorption of Vitamin E and reduce potential gastric irritation. Do not crush or chew unless advised.
The combination acts synergistically. Calcium Pantothenate (B5) is a precursor to coenzyme A, crucial for fatty acid metabolism. Methylcobalamin (B12) acts as a cofactor for methionine synthase (homocysteine metabolism) and methylmalonyl-CoA mutase (myelin synthesis). Niacinamide (B3) is a precursor to NAD/NADP, coenzymes for redox reactions. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant and cofactor for collagen synthesis. Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) is a lipid-soluble antioxidant protecting cell membranes from peroxidation.
Pregnancy: Category A (Indian categorization). Vitamins are essential in pregnancy. This combination is considered safe at recommended dietary levels. However, use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.
Driving: No known effects on driving ability.
| Levodopa | Niacinamide may reduce the efficacy of Levodopa in Parkinson's disease. | Moderate |
| Chloramphenicol | May antagonize the hematopoietic response to Vitamin B12. | Moderate |
| Proton Pump Inhibitors (Omeprazole, etc.) | Long-term use can reduce Vitamin B12 absorption by altering gastric pH and intrinsic factor. | Moderate |
| Antiepileptics (Phenytoin, Phenobarbital) | May reduce serum levels of B-vitamins, particularly B12 and folate. | Moderate |
| Warfarin | High-dose Vitamin E (>400 IU/day) may potentiate anticoagulant effect. This dose (25mg ~37 IU) is low risk, but monitor INR. | Low |
